Marshall Charloff is a dynamic singer, songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist known for his work as the frontman of the renowned tribute show Marshall Charloff & Purple xPeRIeNCE, which celebrates the legacy of Prince with 100% live performance and musicianship. For over 15 years, he has captivated audiences across the U.S., Europe, and Canada with his striking appearance and exceptional vocal and instrumental prowess, and has now performed to over 1 million adoring fans.
Marshall has performed worldwide, fronting the finest symphonies in most major cities in North America. His musical journey includes appearing with Prince on the album 94 East, where he played keyboards and bass guitar. He was discovered at a young age by Pepe Willie, who was also instrumental in launching Prince’s career, and this pivotal moment shaped Marshall’s musical path.
In 2009, he performed at a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame benefit concert alongside Doctor Fink from Prince and the Revolution, sharing the stage with iconic acts like Cheap Trick and Atlanta Rhythm Section. His versatility was further showcased in 2019 when he played keyboards for the Atlanta Rhythm Section.
As a career highlight, Marshall had the opportunity in 2018 to headline at Red Rocks Amphitheater in Morrison, Colorado, performing to over 8000 fans while being televised live on PBS.
As a producer and recording artist, Marshall has written songs and produced for legendary acts like the Commodores and Little Anthony of Little Anthony and the Imperials. He co-founded Marshmallow Fields, a 1990s production team that produced a Billboard Top 100 dance chart single.
Marshall is also an inductee of the Mid America Music Hall of Fame as part of the band Westside. His solo album Unperfect ranked and charted globally among the top 100 albums of 2020. He is set to release his upcoming album, Next, in 2025. While Marshall plays all instruments, provides vocals, and self-produces, the album features appearances by world-renowned mullti-Grammy Award-winning saxophonist Gerald Albright and Soul/Funk Drummer of the Year, Petar Janjic, from Cory Wong’s band.
Marshall’s critically acclaimed one-man show, Purple Piano, enjoyed a successful residency in Las Vegas, and he now tours nationally with this production, providing him with a stage to perform his jazzy piano interpretations of Prince’s smash hits, as well as his original compositions.
Marshall has collaborated with various artists, including Jovan Armand from the Shazam movie series, and produced the Soulfire EP with Nigeria’s Afrobeat artist Dotman, achieving success in both the U.S. and Africa.
